Torry Harris established its own processing and seafood plant in 1993. Its trained labour force allows a high degree of control, right from the fishing harbour through pre-processing and production. The first of its kind in India, the plant has a capacity to produce over 45 tonnes per day.
STATE-OF-THE-ART FACTORY
- Three well-lit processing halls capable of comfortably accommodating over 300 workers to do all the pre-processing at the factory premises, eliminating dependence on outside job contractors for the pre-processing.
- Two chill rooms and most modern cold storage facility with direct container loading.
- Imported Blast freezers and Plate freezers to handle a wide range of products with a capacity of 45 tons finished product per day.
- In-house water treatment and power generation facility.
- To retain maximum freshness and avoid repeated handling of raw material, a fleet of refrigerated trucks that transport directly from the landing centers to factory for quick processing.
- Purchase arrangements at the major fishing harbours to receive raw material directly from fishing boats in iced containers.
- USA trained technicians on premises, well-equipped bacteriological laboratory and automatic disinfectant wash for all vehicles entering the factory.
- Full range of products - shrimp, cuttlefish, squid, crab, octopus and all varieties of fish, that are hygienically processed to meet the most stringent customer specifications.
